Susan Chapple

I am the Founder and Director of JBSafe Ltd and have 20 years of experience as a laboratory scientist across academia, clinical labs, and biotechnology companies in Oxford and Cambridge. I am motivated by finding pragmatic health, safety and biosafety solutions to support small and medium biotech companies that allow them to focus on dynamic scientific development in a safe and compliant environment.

I hold a PhD in virology, am a Fellow of IIRSM and a Member of the Institute of Science and Technology (MISTR). I have enjoyed being a STEM ambassador by supporting career talks at the local school and I am a safety superhero ambassador.

Personally, I want to demonstrate health, safety & biosafety as a legitimate career avenue to scientists and technical staff, encourage women in science and biosafety and promote professional excellence while maintaining work/life balance.
