MOU signed by Abu Dhabi Public Health Center and IIRSM

Abu Dhabi: Abu Dhabi Public Health Center signed a memorandum of understanding with the International Institute of Risk and Safety Management (IIRSM),  seeking to promote joint action in several aspects within the related fields of safety, occupational health, risk management and accident prevention.

The MOU was signed by H.E. Matar Saeed Al Nuaimi, Director General of Abu Dhabi Public Health Center and Mr. Phillip Pearson, Chief Executive of IIRSM, and attended by representatives from both parties.

The collaboration with the organization is part of Abu Dhabi Public Health Center’s strategy to strengthen the strategic partnerships with leading health authorities and organizations within the public health fields. According to its terms, the agreement aims to exchange the best and most recent practices within the fields of safety, occupational health, risk management, accident prevention and cooperating in different activities related to occupational safety and health through continuous education and training.

As the agreement aims to promote the concept of occupational safety and health through awareness programs and participation in training workshops, workshops and related conferences.

H.E Matar Saeed al-Nuaimi said: “This agreement contributes to strengthening the bonds of cooperation between the two parties through capacity-building and encouraging practitioners to follow best practices in the field of occupational safety and health, and the agreement reflects the Center's efforts to continue to share experiences and knowledge with its partners to ensure that the foundations of public health continue to be established among members of Abu Dhabi society."

Phillip Pearson, Chief Executive of IIRSM, said: “I am delighted to be building on our previously long-standing series of MoUs with OSHAD, by signing this agreement with the Abu Dhabi Public Health Center (ADPHC). This is the culmination of years of co-operation between IIRSM, its members in UAE and the key authorities in Abu Dhabi.

"IIRSM will offer all the support it can give to raising awareness of the challenges but also the successes of the work of ADPHC to as wide an audience as possible. We hope to be able to link senior staff within ADPHC to our global network of international experts and will look to promote further the excellent work being undertaken to ensure risk management best practice and the opportunities that brings are embraced for the betterment of all."

It was also agreed to organize the Occupational Safety and Health Conference once every two years in Abu Dhabi, to promote occupational safety and health as well as establishing a common electronic database on occupational safety and health topics.
