Changing the narrative on suicide

World Suicide Prevention Day, marked annually on 10 September, is organised by the International Association for Suicide Prevention, in conjunction with the World Health Organization (WHO).

The theme for 2026, ‘Changing the Narrative on Suicide’, is about moving from a culture of silence and shame to understanding and support.

We join the global conversation to raise awareness of suicide prevention and the role we have in creating safer, more supportive workplaces.

Employers and leaders have a duty of care to support the health, safety and wellbeing of their workers – including recognising when someone may be struggling, encouraging conversations about mental health and putting effective support in place.
