Strengthening global conversations on risk and resilience
Marsh, leading insurance broker and risk advisor, has joined forces with IIRSM to share insights, shape thought leadership and advance professional development across the global risk community.
The collaboration brings together Marsh’s extensive expertise in risk, insurance and people strategy with IIRSM’s growing international network of risk and safety professionals. Together, they are opening new opportunities to explore the evolving landscape of risk – from psychosocial safety to global workforce wellbeing.
“What appealed to us most about IIRSM was its breadth,” says Darren Holmes, Risk Partner at Marsh. “We wanted to align with an organisation that shared our global outlook – one that could help us bring forward-thinking perspectives on risk and resilience to professionals all over the world.”
The relationship began through a shared commitment to advancing health, safety and risk management practice.
“It felt like a natural fit,” reflects Paul Mansfield, Head of Strategic Growth for Marsh’s Operational Risk Consulting Team (UK). “We don’t advertise – we build relationships. This collaboration gives us a way to connect with professionals beyond our immediate client base, to share insights that can make a real difference.”
For Marsh, working with IIRSM represents a rare opportunity to collaborate outside traditional client service channels, focusing instead on knowledge exchange and community engagement.
As part of working together, Marsh’s health and safety consultants have joined IIRSM’s professional membership community, gaining access to webinars, resources and events that support their continuing professional development (CPD).
Marsh has supported a range of IIRSM events, including the Risk Excellence Awards 2025 and the President’s Reception, which tackled the challenging topic of suicide prevention.
Darren says: “Through IIRSM, our consultants can engage with thought leadership and professional dialogue that they wouldn’t otherwise encounter – for example, contributing to the discussion around the new British Standard on suicide prevention in the workplace.”
Both organisations are extending their presence in key global regions, including the Middle East. Marsh will take part in IIRSM’s Middle East Conference in January 2026, contributing speakers and client perspectives on major transformation projects across the Gulf.
