Incora is an independent distributor and global provider of supply chain solutions, with customers in aerospace, industrial, pharmaceutical, space and defence markets.

The business, with 4,000 employees in 24 countries, was forged by the joining of Wesco Aircraft and Pattonair in 2020.

Incora has been an IIRSM partner since early 2022, with Global EHS Director and IIRSM Fellow Chris Snowden heading up the relationship to benefit his global team of 11 as well as the wider business.

He says: “I am proud of the Incora EHS team for becoming IIRSM members and of our wider partnership with IIRSM to support professional growth, best practice and the opportunity to engage with external EHS professionals. It is important to lead continual improvement and the IIRSM is well positioned to provide world class support and champion professional development.

“Incora has adopted the IIRSM risk management and leadership competence framework into its EHS functional and professional development framework, setting benchmarks at a junior, management and strategic level. This helps us create synergies throughout the business and it also encourages backing from our leadership team.”

The IIRSM framework is useful for helping embed risk management as a core skill into all job roles and responsibilities, providing a consistent approach across an organisation, enhancing decision-making and supporting teams to embed risk management competence into existing and new job roles.

Chris says: “Being an IIRSM partner provides us with wider business insight. When you are working on a project or an initiative, you sometimes don’t realise that you are doing something ground-breaking, so being able to collaborate and network with others means you can benchmark your achievements on a bigger scale.

“Knowledge sharing is a big part of what we get from the partnership, including the professional development webinars and training. IIRSM is an international institute, so that aligns with our global business – we have people all over the world, including in Poland, France, the US and Mexico and would love to see more IIRSM activity in the US.”
