Ambassadors Network

The IIRSM Ambassadors Network consists of individuals who actively support the work of IIRSM (under the direction of the IIRSM CEO and leadership team). They provide expertise to deliver outreach engagements or insight into specific topics/challenges.

Ambassadors hold IIRSM Membership and have a strong interest in supporting IIRSM’s vision and mission. Our ambassadors represent IIRSM in risk and safety markets worldwide.  

A key purpose of the Ambassadors Network is to support IIRSM to achieve its mission by providing a centralised approach to communicating our strategy and initiatives to organisations and risk management professionals, encouraging collaboration and engagement with IIRSM. 

Role of Ambassadors Network

IIRSM Ambassadors take a collaborative approach towards achieving our goals:

  • Signposting IIRSM’s knowledge, resources, events and campaigns to organisations.

  • Representing and/or speaking on behalf of IIRSM at relevant committees or panels or industry events or meetings.

  • Introducing organisations or education establishments to explore collaborations with IIRSM.

  • Supporting IIRSM branches and other networks with understanding of the strategy and key communication messages.

  • Feeding back insights and recommendations to IIRSM on industry trends and needs.

  • Continuously demonstrating IIRSM’s values and code of ethics.

Desirable attributes

  • Demonstrable values and objectives that align with IIRSM and our strategy

  • Ability to develop good relationships and work collaboratively at all levels including C-suite

  • Strong reputation within the risk management community

  • Attuned to the interests of organisations with regards to risk management 

  • Excellent communication skills - competent and keen public speaker

Commitment required from an IIRSM Ambassador

  • Attend bi-monthly IIRSM Ambassador Network engagement meetings chaired by the nominated Chair (A member of the Leadership team and a Trustee will also attend these meetings).

  • Be clear and realistic on support you will be able to offer.

  • Work within the parameters provided by the CEO or IIRSM nominated senior leader.

  • Only engage/communicate on behalf of IIRSM in terms agreed with the CEO or IIRSM-nominated senior leader.

  • Actively consider the IIRSM external communication guidelines to inform any external communications/presentations within your role as an IIRSM Ambassador.
