Speakers

Margaret Sackey, Director of Building Safe Ltd

Margaret Sackey is a Director of Building Safe Ltd., a Chartered Civil Engineer and Chartered Safety Practitioner specialising in Building and Construction Safety  with extensive experience in civil and structural engineering, as well as health and safety management. As a Fellow of The Association for Project Safety, her career spans over 40 years, initially within local government and consultancy roles to transport for London leading the CDM Unit for many years - focusing on compliance with construction regulations and planning supervision. 

Margaret is Co-Chair of ICE Health and Safety Expert Panel / Community which promotes the use of the health and safety risk management best practices to ICE members, shared industry and wider society. 

Gary Watts, Director of Building Safe Ltd

Gary practiced as a risk management and health and safety consultant with a bias towards the built environment.  He is currently a member of Association of Project Safety (CMaPS) and has been invited to support an NHS working group setting higher standards for fire safety standards within NHS Trusts.

Gary is IT literate working in Microsoft 365 including SharePoint, PowerApps and PowerAutomate.

Gary’s BSA BSA involvement commenced with a request from an academic institution to support safety case submissions. A lack of structure led to development of a number of HRB compliance tools (Projects and In-occupation) developed in Microsoft 365 technologies. The audit protocols form the framework for of a series of BSA guidance documents with the intention of developing into formalised courses in conjunction with ABBE (Awarding Body for Built Environment) into a number of formalised courses; Directing Building Safety, Managing Building Safety and Implementing Building Safety (Degree level).
