IIRSM is calling for Members to apply to join the Ambassadors Network following a successful first year.

IIRSM Ambassadors actively support the work of the Institute, providing their expertise to help us achieve our strategic vision and mission. The IIRSM Ambassadors Network was launched in 2024, in the run up to IIRSM’s 50th anniversary.

Elaine Osborne FIIRSM, Head of SHEQ at SAM Mouldings, has been appointed new Chair for 2026.  She said: “It is an honour to be appointed Chair of the IIRSM Ambassadors Network. I am passionate about building a diverse community of professionals who see risk management as a catalyst for stronger organisations, safer workplaces and better business performance.

“Over the year ahead, my focus is on creating more opportunities for the Ambassadors to share expertise, connect across industries and inspire others to approach risk with a positive and practical mindset.

“My vision is to shape the IIRSM Ambassadors Network into a true hub of collaboration and a space where members co-create tools, exchange ideas and showcase innovation. By doing this, we will strengthen IIRSM’s profile as the professional home of contemporary risk leaders, amplifying our voice, broadening our reach and ensuring we are recognised globally for excellence in risk, safety and resilience."

Our thanks to our current Chair, Karen Hewitt FIIRSM, Founder of Leaderlike Ltd, who led the new network in 2025 to elevate the critical role of risk management in organisations across the globe and to the benefit of the whole industry.

Karen and the initial members of the Ambassadors Network developed the IIRSM Organisational Risk Map, which shows how risk in one part of an organisation can impact another, either positively or negatively, and how risks external to the organisation (in the macro-environment) also impact those risks. This will be launched in December ahead of the new iteration of the Ambassadors.
