We’re supporting the APS's National CDM Awards

As you may well know, the International Institute of Risk and Safety Management (IIRSM) is a professional body and charity that offers recognition, information and support to over 8,000 members around the world.

We welcome members from all sectors and roles, and aim to support safety, health and risk practitioners at whatever stage of their career. Part of that support is about giving our members inspiration, showing them examples of best practice, and providing them with a benchmark of excellence to work towards.

Additionally, we’re big believers in collaboration.  Working with and supporting others in our sector who share our vision, values and ultimate end goal of raising standards in the Construction Health and Safety sector.

That’s why we’re proud to tell you, once again, we’re supporting the Health and Safety category at the Association for Project Safety’s 10th annual National CDM and Student Designer Awards.

It’s about coming together and demonstrating to the world that some of our people across our different membership organisations are amongst the most highly skilled professionals in Construction Health and Safety, working hard and collaborating with others, to effect a positive change in the industry, so that workers can return home happily and healthily each and every day.

This particular category is looking for entrants to demonstrate both leadership and innovation in consideration of project Health and Safety at either pre-construction or construction phases to produce new schemes, tools, processes or actions, that safeguard against ill health and/or injury.

We’re delighted to say that IIRM will be sitting on the judging panel for the Health and Safety award, and we’re particularly keen to see submissions that give consideration to health and safety during the design phase, and clear demonstration of sustainable and effective risk management.

If this sounds like something you’d like to get involved in, you need to move quickly.  Entries into APS’ National CDM Awards closes at midnight on Tuesday 6 June – you have little less than a month to create and submit your application.

Don’t forget, shortlisted entries will be announced on Friday 14 July and tickets to the awards evening in London will go on sale soon after, with the gala dinner being held on Thursday 19 October at Gibson Hall, London.  The National CDM Awards evening is known across the industry as being a night not-to-miss; with high-profile presenters, guest speakers and spectacular entertainment, we’re assured APS is working hard to push the boundaries even further as together we help them celebrate a whole decade of their awards.

You can find more information about APS here and guidelines for entry into the awards here.  Best of luck with your submission and we look forward to seeing you in London at the awards evening soon.
