IIRSM to represent its Members on UK Construction Industry Council
Date of Issue: Friday, 16 January, 2015
IIRSM starts 2015 with the great news that the Institute has become a full member of the UK’s Construction Industry Council (CIC).
The CIC is a hugely successful and influential umbrella body that seeks to represent predominantly UK based construction related professional bodies and Associations with an interest in our built environment. It is not a political organisation but has significant relationships with all relevant UK Government Departments and Agencies. IIRSM takes a place on its Council and will engage at all levels in all of the work of CIC. Of special interest to IIRSM will be its influential Standing Health and Safety Committee which engages with all of the professional bodies such the RIBA, ICE, IStructE, RICS and more. There is also an active and respected Liability Panel where IIRSM hope to assist on other risk issues aside from health and safety.
Find out more at www.cic.org.uk . IIRSM look forward to encouraging and assisting with representation at all levels of CIC. Representation on the Construction Industry Council will provide IIRSM with many opportunities to work with other bodies including the HSE, the designer professional bodies and others. If you are interested in finding out more and may want to engage with CIC through IIRSM please get in touch with Greg Brown (greg.brown@iirsm.org).
