A message from the CEO
"I want to remind you all that we are here to support you in any way we can."
Like many others, I write this at my kitchen table which has become my new place of work, with the sun starting to rise on what looks to be a lovely spring day. However, having already had my daily run, I’m spending the rest of my day “at home”. Whilst I sit and ponder when I can allow myself a break for a cup of tea, my thoughts turn again to all the IIRSM members who are at the front line giving practical support to individuals and to companies and organisations to help them through these unprecedented and unpredictable times. I remain extremely proud to be the Chief Executive of an organisation with such a global membership, and I want to remind you all that we are here to support you in any way we can.
I’m pleased to say that the IIRSM team are all fit and well and operating remotely. This brings challenges for any organisation, large or small. As a small team we have embraced the world of video conferencing rather smoothly, following our pre-lockdown trials.
We believe that we are stronger when we are working together. Our membership community is pulling together and providing support to their peers as well as helping us to develop resources and provide information that we can share with you.
I’d like to thank the team who are working hard to expand our membership offering online and continue to provide the service you deserve. I am pleased to inform you that we still plan to offer our range of conferences, dinners and face to face courses once we are fully confident that the situation allows. I’m grateful to the speakers, sponsors and original attendees who have all supported our change of plans. In the meantime, we have put together a series of webinars and are working on a suite of online resources on topical subjects and virtual events and presentations which I hope you will find helpful.
We are mindful of impact the current crisis is having on everyone and many of you may be facing financial uncertainty and looking to cut costs to protect the short term. I would urge you to maintain your links with IIRSM during this time and take the opportunity to develop your skills and prepare yourself for the new emerging future.

Please pick up the phone, talk to one of the team and we will provide any support we can to ensure your professional membership is maintained. We want to continue to support your professional development and provide you with access to a pool of support, ideas, resources and friendships and to share experiences and concerns to help us get through the short to medium term, and of course to be ready for life post COVID-19 as our new future emerges. We believe we are infinitely stronger working together.
