In January 2006, IIRSM launched it’s online membership survey which was created to help us understand what our members want and need from their membership.  The survey asked questions about: IIRSM Membership, The Health and Safety Manager’s Newsletter, Membership Benefits and Services, IIRSM Website and IIRSM in general.

IIRSM offered a prize of a bottle of champagne for a member that suggested the most original idea or constructive comment.  It was difficult to choose as there were numerous good ideas, but the Board were particularly taken by an idea from Paul Parson MIIRSM from Plymouth.  Paul suggested that we put a free downloadable health and safety awareness presentation on our website that can be used to broaden the knowledge of employees.  A PowerPoint presentation will be available on our website shortly.

IIRSM are taking Paul’s suggestion one step further to pick up on points made by other members who suggested a presentation for 14 year olds who are about to go on work experience to help prepare them and raise the profile of Health and safety in the work place.

Our second winner was Stephen Beswick MIIRSM from Derbyshire, whose name was pulled out of the hat for the free prize draw.  Congratulations to both our winners.
